Title: Oh, for what you feel that hunger?
Pairing: Lucifer x Reader
Prompt creature: Famine

Word Count: 1,919(heh, sorry)

You opened the door to your house and walked inside, turning around to lock the door. You took off your jacket and went straight to the stairs, which led to the basement.

There was not much time to do anything else as you had few things or rather one thing, that had to be finished. And you knew if you didn’t do it now, than you were going to have your ears talked out by your best friend, Lucifer. You didn’t think he would get like really mad, but one hell of a conversation was sure to be if you don’t do what you have to do. You let out an exasperated sigh and continued on your not so merry way.

Soft thumping sound of your boots echoed around the staircase down to the basement, bouncing off the stone walls. You walked down the stairs, taking each if your step carefully so not to fall over on these..not so reliable pieces of wood. Four more steps and you were standing before a heavy wooden door.

You pushed it open, grunting a bit over its weight, and to your sight a dim-lit, quite spacious room was revealed. It was almost empty apart from a small table, standing by the wall, to your right hand, and an old man strapped to a chair. The heavy metal, chains securing his body tightly, had strange symbols engraved over them.

The man raised his head when he heard the door being opened. His eyes met up with yours and you felt shivers running down your spine. It seemed as if his eyes bored into your very soul. As if he was searching for something dark in it to use those things against you. That man might be tied up but there was still a dangerous aura wafting up from his being. You gulped slightly and walked up to him. You closed your eyes for a moment to regain your composure. You couldn’t show him your slight fear, nor could you show any other weaknesses.

“Where is Death?” You asked in a commanding tone, standing before him.

“I don’t know.” He replied simply, looking you straight in the eye.

“That’s bullshit!” You exclaimed and stepped away from him. You started pacing back and forth before him.

“How can you not know where your older brother is?” You stopped for a moment to look back at him and waited for his answer.

“I already told you, dear. We might be the Horsemen but we can’t have the knowledge of where one of us is unless we’re getting ready for the Apocalypse.” He said simply, staring back at you with a bored expression.

“But you’re Famine! Probably the second oldest after Death. How can you not even have the slightest thought on the whereabouts of your oldest brother?” You were practically whining at this point, not that you cared if he notice the change in your voice or attitude.

“Simply, as it is with your boyfriend.” Famine didn’t do as much as blink regarding to your current fuming. His reply make you just more confused if it was even possible.

“What do you mean? I don’t have a boyfriend.” You stopped abruptly in your tracks.

“Oh so he still isn’t, right? Pardon me my little mistake. Although, your hunger to him is so strong, I can feel it without the ring.” Famine stated, not faltering his the intensity of his gaze.

“What are you talking about? I’ve never felt hunger for him! You can’t say shitty lies like that and hope that somebody ’s gonna swallow them so gratefully.” You sneered at him and turned away from him. Damn, you lost your temper and patience before the old, probably worst of all, Horseman. You didn’t have any strength left to bear with the upcoming conversations. The whole interrogation went out of control and you couldn’t continue as your current state wouldn’t allow you so think straight.

You stomped out of the room, slamming the door so hard that the nearby walls shook a bit. “That shit! How could he?!” You thought to yourself, moving upstairs and away from the goddamned basement with that stupid ‘horse rider’.

When you came out of it, you decided to go to your bedroom and sleep on the stress, maybe the morning will be somehow different..maybe Famine’s words will stop ringing throughout your mind, haunting you with every step you took.

You kicked of your boots in the hall and dragged your feet in the direction of your room, where you could get the rest you needed and finally relax.

You reached your room and stepped inside of it. You let out a relieved sigh and moved to your wardrobe to get some clothes to change in for the night. Looking through it, you picked your black tank top and shorts to match. You put them on quickly, discarding your previous outfit somewhere in the corner, not really caring about it at all. Your head was aching a little and your muscles were sore from being up and on legs the whole day. And the fail in the interrogation just added up to the pile.

You trotted up to the bed and plopped face down on it, groaning at the feeling of the soft mattress beneath your worn body. You somehow managed to get the sheets from under yourself and covered your body with it, relishing in the warmth and fluffiness of it.

You felt yourself drifting away, losing consciousness in favor to see dreams and relax….

That was until a strange sound woke you up. You looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand and it showed that you only slept for like an hour.

You groaned as you let your head fall back onto the comfy and soft pillow. How in the hell you were not sleeping at this time? You looked around, your eyes darting around the room, searching for any possible threat or an idiot that dared to wake you up. But alas, there wasn’t a thing or a living being. Everything was on its place - books on the shelves and few on the table in the corner of your room, band posters on the wall and a calendar hanging on the door, clothes in the closet…That’s all. All things on their appropriate places and not out of place.

You just sighed, closing your eyes, and turned on your side, trying to find a comfortable pose to fall yet again into the embrace of the blissful thing, called sleep. After a few minutes of shuffling around, you finally settled cozily with the pair of fuzzy blankets around your body, so you looked like a big burrito. You snuggled more into your pillow and felt as your mind started slipping away, sleep edging much more quicker than one can anticipate at first.

Everything seemed alright…

“Good morning Vietnam!” A loud yell, sounding so hellish, right next to your poor ears, made you jump up.

…until it wasn’t.

“Holy Jesus fucking Christ!” You screamed and tried to stand up on your bed. But you failed to do so as your whole body was still tangled in all those blankets so you just face planted back on the bed. You heard laughter in the background. You started turning your head to see who it was.

“Wrong. So, so wrong, my dear.” A smooth voice reached your ears and you didn’t even have to turn your head anymore because you could recognize that voice among others.

“Lucifer.” You let out a tired sigh.

“The one and only, hon. And if you keep saying my name like that I might start getting mixed signals here.” He let out a chuckle and you felt how your bed dipped slightly.

“Why pray tell are you here?” You asked, trying to untangle the bed sheets from your body.

“To see you, of course. And to know how the interrogation went so far.” He replied.

“Firstly, help me out of here,”You nodded your head to the sheets. “And secondly, it went horrible - that shit didn’t say anything.”

“My, my, Y/n. That’s not how you call a Horseman.” He clicked his tongue. “And what’s the magic word?”

“I don’t care about him. And help me now!” You commanded from your position.

“Really? Commanding me, the Devil, in your current condition? No wonder you’re far more interesting than other humans.” Lucifer put his chin on his hand. You felt your heart fluttering faster after his words. Were you really more interesting for him?

“But, oh well. And don’t tell me later that I didn’t help you.” He heaved up, after letting an exasperated sigh, as if you asked him to cure cancer. He moved up to you and started pulling one sheet from another. And just in few seconds you were free from that confined prison.

“Thanks, Luce.” You said, stretching out.

However, you didn’t saw how he perked up at you words. His blue eyes practically light up at your show of gratitude and more because of your nickname for him.

“So, what do you want to hear? Famine told me that he doesn’t know where his brother is. Something like ‘we can’t know the whereabouts of each other until the Apocalypse starts’.” You grumbled, pouting, and crossed your arms over your chest.

“But I don’t think it was the thing that got you so riled up, am I right?” Lucifer smiled at your pout. You looked so cute like that. Not that he would admit that out loud. No, he didn’t want to ruin your friendship like that.

You bit your lower lip lightly and thought if it was a good idea to tell him that. Will he guess who Famine meant as your hunger? After a minute, you decided to screw everything and spill out. The only worst thing is him leaving..right?

“Well, he said that even without his ring he could feel my hunger toward my friend. And I-I didn’t want to believe in that.” You lowered your head after you said that, letting your hair hide your now red face.

Silence.

You swallowed the lump in your throat and cursed inwardly. Why did you said that? Now he probably hated you and wouldn’t want to talk with you?

Being so lost in your thoughts, you jumped when a cold hand grasped your chin. You looked up, meeting up with his eyes.

“Lucifer, I’m sor-” You tried to say, but didn’t manage as you felt cold lips closing over yours. Your heart starting beating fast against your ribcage. Your eyes flattered close and you moved your right hand into his soft, dirty blonde locks. He circled his hands over your waist and pulled you onto his lap.

You broke apart when you needed the air. You looked down at him.

“What was that?” You asked in a still shaky voice.

“Well, I thought this would make you believe that he probably was right in one thing.” Lucifer replied casually, grinning.

“Really?”

“Yes, and you need to tell me for what more you feel that hunger.” He said and tightened his hold on you.

“I can’t tell you…but I think I might show you” You countered, making his grin widen.

“Then what are we waiting for?” He exclaimed and pushed you out of his lap and down onto the bed, and moved over your body…

What followed later was now your room’s secret. And a really hot secret indeed.

Famine was right about that hunger.
